"Urban Wilderness" is the painting based on my visit to Freedom Park. The 11" by 14" oil painting on canvas is framed and displayed at Dennison-Moran Gallery. 239-263-0590

Freedom Park, Naples

Freedom Park is a recently opened park right in the middle of town near the Naples Zoo, Coastland Center and Naples High. There are small lakes with walks, bridges and visiting birds. There is also a boardwalk trail leading through untouched land to the Gordon River on the east. This wild area is very much like Corkscrew Swamp. Here is a photograph I took early one morning with the sun lighting the Cypress trees and reflecting off small streams.

One of the perks to painting out on the side of the road is that people come by to see what you are doing. While I was painting this cute little pink cottage, a lady stopped to view the work and then told me that she owned that house - and the one next door. I had often wanted to see the house next door but it is hidden behind a rather tall privacy hedge. She very kindly invited me to tour the house and property. What a treat it is! I came the next day to do this painting of her pool and patio. Look for more nooks and crannies of this cottage in the future! These are both painted in oil, the cottage is 9" by 12" and the patio is 12" square. Let me know if you are interested in sale prices. Call me at 239-263-0590.

Beach Shadows

One of my favorite beach spots is on the southern part of Naples beach not too far from Gordon Pass where the Gordon River and Naples Bay flow into the Gulf of Mexico. This is almost the last public access at 32nd Avenue South which gives it a quiet private flavor. These morning shadows are painted on a 11 by 14 inch canvas board in acrylic paint.

Just came from an exciting web building course. So much to learn! Blogging for Business is the next course. I am coming late to a whole new world of possibility and contacts.
